At Telemation, our engineering and automation team developed a fully integrated system to support safe, reliable and efficient rig operation. The system included real-time machine monitoring, safety interlocks, and advanced remote control capabilities using rugged industrial-grade hardware.

Real-Time Monitoring with HMI Dashboard

We installed a network of intelligent sensors to collect data across the rig’s key components:

  • Downhole air pressure

  • Mast inclination

  • Engine and hydraulic temperature

  • System pressures and faults

This data was fed to an EPEC 6112 Human-Machine Interface (HMI)—a rugged, in-cab touch display that provides live diagnostic information, system health monitoring, and alerts for fault prevention.

These insights allow operators to anticipate failures, conduct predictive maintenance, and reduce unexpected machine downtime—ultimately supporting better project timelines and lower maintenance costs.

Wireless Remote Control with Safety Interlocks

To ensure precise and safe operation of the drill rig, we integrated four PUMA T24 and T26 industrial transmitters paired with PUMA R20 receivers. These wireless control solutions allowed operators to manage critical machine functions from a safe vantage point while maintaining full visibility.

Key safety features include:
